WHAT IS A KINGDOM?
Before we can talk about Kingdom principles and applications, I feel it necessary to define what a Kingdom is. What is meant by the “Kingdom of Heaven” or the “Kingdom of God”? How is this unseen Kingdom manifested in the physical world we live in?
Before we dive into these questions I should clearly state the following. I am a believer in Jesus Christ. I believe Him to be the Only Begotten Son of God Himself that died on the cross to save us all. I believe that the Bible, which I will often refer to as the Word of God or the Kingdom Constitution, to be the ultimate authority in my life and the governor of all my affairs. I pray that in saying this that it does not deter you from reading on. I am not here to judge or condemn anyone for believing something different but I feel it to be vitally important that you understand my frame of reference for everything I write.
With that being said, let us start with defining the word “kingdom”. Webster’s dictionary defines kingdom as, “a politically organized or major territorial unit having a monarchical form of government headed by a king or queen.” The word kingdom is literally the combination of the words “king” and “domain”. So, in essence we can say that kingdom means a “King’s Domain”. This is the area or realm or territory that is subject to the rule and reign of a king. The king is the ultimate authority.
Now let’s take this definition and apply it to the phrase, “Kingdom of God”. The Kingdom of God would therefore be defined as the realm in which’s God’s perfect will is manifested and his authority governs. This realm could be a number of things in our lives. The realm of finances. The realm of emotions. The realm of logical thinking. The realm of the workplace. The realm of the home. The realm of death. The realm of life. When I talk about the Kingdom of God, this is what I am referring to. God’s ultimate authority in every area of our lives.
Going forward, let us realize that the Kingdom of God is not just a heavenly concept that is out of our reach but instead it is something very tangible and touchable in the here and now. It is ever so present in the earth that we live in.

What I want the most is for this to not be about me. But rather the focus be placed on Jesus Christ; the author and finisher of our faith. I am just a vessel willing to be used by him and for him.
Good job!
Thank you pastor! A lot of my knowledge comes from you and your teachings!
Your explanation is right on it with clarity.
That is my goal. To try to make it as simple as I can.
