POINT OF PERPLEXITY
Below are the notes I took from the sermon preached by my Pastor on yesterday.
Sunday 8/20/2017
Speaker: Pastor R W Barrion
Title: Point of Perplexity
Scripture: Isaiah 5:4; Eph 4:11-14
Points:
1. Soil
2. Supports
3. Sequel
Notes:
God wants to understand there are bad situations that are coming down the pipe. And he wants us to understand why and what to do. It is our choice to understand that we are placed in good soil. There is no excuse for this rationale.
God has already had our well-being and protection addressed. But there are things that will hinder our development. When God planted us and we accepted Jesus, we became God’s best. Why are we trying to figure out who we are? Walk in what God has said we are. Again, we are the best!! He has also provided us oversight. He has put things in place to allow us to discern things we would otherwise not see. This makes us useful for Him. It perfects us for the work for which he has called us. Otherwise we would be useless Christians.
This is especially important for men as we are called to lead. God is looking for men with righteous judgement. A man who takes care of His responsibility. But what he sees are dependent men. Men who are unsure. Men who were oppressed. For this reason, the supports that God has given are taken away. The benefits of the Kingdom are held back from us. Men, we have to address things with the Word. No more excuses. No more compromises. Let us live the lives that God has ordained for us and take full advantage of the soil that God has planted us in.

What I want the most is for this to not be about me. But rather the focus be placed on Jesus Christ; the author and finisher of our faith. I am just a vessel willing to be used by him and for him.
