Title: Are You There?
Scripture: I Kings 17:1-5
Points:
- A Place Of Promise
- A Place Of Providence
- A Place Of Provision
Notes:
The Lord would have us to be content where we are. We, as a people, are in a constant state of complaining. To battle this, we must speak thanksgiving no matter our circumstance. In the text, Elijah spoke God’s word that it would not rain. Then God led him to a place of promise. A place where God would meet all his needs in the midst of the drought. This place contained a brook from which he could drink. Likewise with us. God will lead us to places where he will provide our needs. It may not look like what we imagine or desire, but God is able to provide in all situations and circumstances. In the text, God allowed the ravens, which were not considered the best of birds, to bring him bread and meat to eat. God can use the most lowly situations and circumstances to bless us.
It is by God’s providence that this is possible. In the impossible and improbable, God show’s himself to be incredible. It is God’s providence that provides for us. This has to be our thinking no matter what we feel or see. We must get there. To that way of thinking. In doing so, we allow God to be responsible for taking care of all our needs!

What I want the most is for this to not be about me. But rather the focus be placed on Jesus Christ; the author and finisher of our faith. I am just a vessel willing to be used by him and for him.
